As I'm sure my last blog made clear, I was really worried going into this cosplay idea. I've never made cosplay costumes before. The besties and I have done cosplay one other time - when we went to the "Death Note" movie. I think I made a pretty cute Misa but I'm really excited about getting to cosplay again because I've lost some weight since then and I think I'll be more comfortable in the costume. Blessedly, though, Orihime doesn't wear anything super skimpy! I have some other characters that make me nervous to think about! lol

I'm actually cranking along pretty well! I'm super-excited! At this point, the only costume still needing major construction is Orihime's dress. I know it's technically cheating to just modify clothes we bought instead of actually sewing the costumes, but it was some seriously short notice for making 4 full costumes when I'm the only one who sews! o_0 It was awesome that the besties actually managed to find almost everything we needed. The only thing I'm having to completely construct is Ishida's cape, but I found a really simple tutorial on how to make it and I think it looks great. (Bonus: Three yards of cheap fabric from the scrap bin at WalMart. w00t!)

If I could say there's a down side to sewing this cosplay, it would be the fact that I'm having so much fun and enjoying the challenge of making the costumes look like the characters and I'm afraid I'm catching the cosplay bug! I could also blame the fact that I've been watching "Heroes of Cosplay". Unfortunately it only got 6 or so episodes, so I'm hoping there will be a second season with maybe more episodes. I love it though. I keep freaking out about how things look and the besties keep yelling at me "Yaya's not gonna be judging! Quit freaking out!"
